The work of the creator of Death’s Ballad (1944) teems with death as a subject matter. There are no positive elements to date or precisely establish the circumstances in which this beautiful charcoal was produced. For its Expressionist and Kubinian style it may be situated early in the artist’s track record, i.e., in the 1920s.
