There is no record of the precise date and circumstances concerning Traveling Circus serigraph’s inclusion in the museum’s collection. However, the work has been there since at least 1953, (Luiz Hossaka, verbal communication). For stylistic reasons, the print can be dated from Klee’s most extreme period of activity and suggests the development of forms starting from, for example, a drawing such as Teich – Nixe (Swamp – Nymph), precisely from 1940, and still part of Felix Klee’s Collection.
